I was invited to a fashion industry-media interaction thingy, and there is always immense pressure on how to dress for one of these. I reacted the only way I know — by under-dressing. I was not going enrol in the war of brands and lengths that wages at such events. Even if it meant being predictable, I’m happier in my insouciance.
Top: Long mul shirt from ASOS (Rs 100, Fashion street) with roll up short sleeves. Updated length saved me from boring.
Jeans: Spoils-of-the-job Victoria Beckham skinny jeans.
Shoes: One more pair of gladiators. I rolled up the jeans to show them off.
Accessories: One of the easiest tricks to stay current is to buy a stole in the “it” colour. Thus my new grey one (Rs 90, Causeway). Seiko mechanical watch; peacock feathers as earrings; two bands on my left hand (the ones I am wearing on the same hand in the picture below) and a large rose quartz ring on my right; Tibetan charm on a long chain; Large guitar bag for overnight clothes.
Everything I was wearing was non-descript, but tasteful.

this is perfect! I love the shirt and the gladiators and gray scarf is the perfect accessory with everything. I am still looking for the perfect gray shade.

I am always a big fan of simple white shirt and jeans. This is great with the gladiator sandals. It is a simple well put together but the special point is the scarf, definitely make the whole outfit stunning!!
I think I am going to try the white shirt+jeans combo, and throw on a scarf to spice it up. Great outfit.

Again, simple yet chic. Trendy yet comfortable. Love it! I cant wait for fall to finally get here. I have tons of scarves/stoles that I want to wear. It was 98F high today. Horrible heat and no airconditioning at home. Argggh

When I wore this, I thought: This is what Nidhi would wear. Heh. Scarves are always handy in sub-zero air conditioning.

Very cool! Its never a good idea to try and keep up with the ‘in crowd’. I dont even bother TRYING because it’s so easy to look half baked. This is classic and savvy and very ‘I’m cooler than you because I don’t try too hard’. Good for you!!
