Dilshad Burman – September 8
Anniversary day 2 – the actual day.
I was being surprised with dinner somewhere extra special, but as usual informed not to ‘over do’ it. Whatever THAT means.
Turns out we went to the rather high end 38th floor lake side hotel rotating restaurant (that doesn’t rotate anymore) close to home.
I’m glad I went with this under done yet classic look…

The skirt: Taking a cue from Ella, I went in search of a grey pencil skirt after seeing the lovely one she bought from H&M. Unfortunately, as always, they had run out of 2′s and 0′s when I got there. Luckily, as ALWAYS, Costa Blanca came to the rescue. This lovely, high waist, grey pencil skirt has some rouching at the top, which, being lucky as I am with my metabolism, I am able to carry off without looking too pregnant. Its very flattering and I heart it muchly. Its a cotton-tweedy kind of material so I can see myself wearing it in the fall with some leggings too.
The top: This top is a lovely breezy soft cotton jersey tank top from Old Navy. Its one of those super loose fit tops that slips and slides everywhere and only will power holds it in place. The straps are actually twisted though, so easy to adjust and sort of tuck into place. I love the flow of the fabric and the tucks on the low neck. A bit troublesome though, so I might consider layering it with another strappy top next time.
The shoes: My go to teal peep toes. I am getting SO much wear from these! I wanted to go with the black ruffle t-straps but a lack of time and need to keep it low key made me jump into these much loved wedges.
Accessories: Again, a lack of time made me forget ear-rings but I wore my hair down, so you couldn’t see my ears anyway. I wore a simple silver metal hair band, the regular silver rings and added this lovely ‘water bead’ necklace made by a close friend of ours that makes some amazing jewelry and trinkets as a hobby and for sale.
I threw on one of my black blazers to leave the house and I think, if I had that kind of career, it would be a great ‘work to evening out’ double duty outfit!
All in all, it was quite appropriate for where we went and atleast for this night, to bedazzle the manly man.

@inopiate – thanks lady!
@sraikh – Skinny nothing! Its more hassle than it looks like more often than not!
I like your style and I think its more important to dress your body shape with things that suit and flatter you rather than worry about weight and you do a really good job of it!! Please continue posting.
As for shoes, I count on Payless a lot. My feet are ridiculously small and they make half sizes that fit perfectly. Plus they’re RIDICULOUSLY cheap and you don’t feel so bad if you wear them for one season and finish with them!
