I love your hair. Do you need to use a flat iron or is that natural?

    • shoefiend 1:41 am on December 23, 2009 Permalink

Thanks :) I needed to use a flat iron. Needed, because since that picture I’ve lopped off my hair :D

Striped azure cashmere tunic from Boden that I ordered as a birthday gift to myself!

Grey leggings and quilted black ballet flats with a gold chain detail from Primark (yes, I’m cheap like that!)

Multi-coloured silk stripe bag with silver handles from Chamiers, Madras.

Multi-strand rose quartz neck piece from Aesthetics, Madras.

    Holiday Outfit

Unfortunetly I have to work this holiday season. So I am thinking that I can dress up to work.
I picked out some outfit here but not sure what to wear. Or anyone have any nice ideas?
Here are one of them I picked, and dunno if it will really do with a “dress up”

Here is the shoulder part that I love….looks so princess-ish

    3.12.09

    DSC05409

Dress: By Banana Republic, found on Hill Road, Bandra for Rs 100. It was a whole size larger, so I took it to the tailor, who altered it for Rs 100.
Shoes: T-Bar Clarks facilitated by the lovely Faye. I firmly believe in the policy of buying two of whatever is timeless, comfortable and on sale.
Accessories: Titan watch, square garnet and moon-stone earrings. I wanted to wear small silver hoops, but couldn’t find mine. Since these were square, they were stern enough and would have gone cleverly with my red T-bars. But I love the stolid-ness of the black ones. I’ll stop about the shoes.
What I did need was an official looking bag, so I got one that looks like a doctor’s bag. Haven’t used it yet; will feature it the next time I wear this dress.

I love a classic, boring dress. It makes me feel safe, unobtrusive, stern and appealing. This one had all the signs I look for — flattering boat-neck, wool-blend fabric, ambiguous colour and a conservative length. My hair is long enough to be able to do things with it, so I parted it in the centre and wore it low.

      Love this! Very chic.

    • f 3:00 am on December 18, 2009 Permalink

Very crisp. I like. I’d wear the claret shoes, but I suppose on the days you’re looking for obscurity, black will do just as nicely. Please tell me it is a red bag. I’m such a sucker for red.

    • Educated Tatya 10:14 pm on December 18, 2009 Permalink

      @Sheeba: Thanks
@faye: The claret shoes are too precious. I’m scared of scuffing them and walk with my feet apart. And the bag *is* red.

    Prints are still in!

    1

Heres my ensemble for my casual office Christmas lunch. I normally don’t wear jeans to work but made an exception this once.
Top: One of my latest splurges from River Island. I love the subtle bead detail on the prints and the bubble hem at waist. Because I liked the style so much I bought 3 similar ones in different prints, colour and sleeve lengths. Watch this space.

Bottom: Skinny jeans from Dorothy Perkins. I can't complain too much on fit as they were a bargain at £22.
Jewellery: Silver grey long pearls from FCUK. I normally wear them doubled up but wore it long for a trendy change.

Bangles: Metal ones from somewhere in India. I have worn them to death yet still love them.

    Last warm winter day

Here is a outfit I put together for the last warm day in winter.

It is the leather jacket that I was debating whether I should keep it or not earlier…well, I kept it because it went on sale, and I got my money difference back. It is such a useful leather jacket because I almost wore it everytime and everywhere. This is just a simple grey leggings (i love leggings) with a pair of black knee hight boots. Navy blue shirt with the leather jacket.

    Earlier Picture (aug-20-2009)

I love the trend for this summer pants. It’s that kind of tight on the bottom, but lose at the top. I found one at Urban Outfitters on sale for $9.99, so no doubt I got it!!

I guess it’s hard to match pants like this up since I don’t wear sleeveless tops, so I have to find some jacket to wear on top it, so here is a simple outfit I put together.

A white short sleeve t-shirt with a denim jacket, and the grey pants with wedges makes me look taller. With my knock off Chanel bag, it doesn’t look too much, but at the same time, it looks classy.

I’d wondered how to wear these pants. They look pretty good on you. Could be cause you’re fearless.

    • ella renee 8:33 pm on December 19, 2009 Permalink

I always liked it, I used to have a black one, and my friend liked it so she took it from me. I can’t find a black one, so ended up buying a grey one. I have a bigger hip so I thought this would cover that…hehe

    Cardigan Season

It is hard to wear clothes for this season because everything I wear underneath has to fit in the coat, and I don’t want it to look like a too puffy coat, so really, layers are important. It has to be right, and it can not be much.

The grey cardigan/sweater is from H&M, it is a very simple and easy sweater and has no buttons, no zippers, just like a rug, very slight and fit.

With a black pair of skinny jeans, I can just wear a pair of any boots to go with it.

    Hello SPD

    From SPD

This outfit ( though I don’t know if it is well put) is my thanks to ET for all the positive fashion changes she has brought into my life. ET this one is for you.

Top: A really pale pink smock top from All about Summer. It was part of the pregnancy package that ET sent my way (for which I can never thank her enough). It is a crinkled chiffon outside and has a satiny layer inside. Originally the inner layer was longer and ended with a ribbon. I didn’t like the way it looks and cut it to the length of this top and feel this works better. I love the silver butterflies embossed on it which are highlighted with sequins.

Jeans: Ok, first I need to know if these Jeans qualify as skinnies. Its a D&G original bought from a store in Hyderabad that retails export surplus clothes. I paid Rs. 850 for them and they feel realllllllllly good.

Scarf: Its a regular net scarf and I wanted to wear something to add visual interest. So I knotted it up like tie.

Accessories: These pink stone butterfly earrings, a white stone ring and black pumps. And I was set for my evening stroll.

I wouldn’t call those jeans skinny. It’s difficult to tell because they are bunched up at the bottom, but it looks like a straight cut to me.

    • Educated Tatya 9:02 am on December 12, 2009 Permalink

If I were marketing them, I’d say regular slim cut.
