    Prints in the winter?

As much as I get creative with beads and accessories, prints usually jazz up an outfit without trying too hard. In the winter however, it’s difficult and so I was glad to find something somewhat acceptable…

    From Style Per Diem

The jeans: Previously posted dark wash trouser jeans from my last birthday with a double button, patch kind of front closure.

The top: I layered a beautiful ruffle georgette-lace-jersey tank top under a cardigan which has a lace like print on it. I usually avoid lace prints like the plague but I didn’t mind this one too much and have since bought an entire dress in a similar vein. I like the pink and since its set against an off white/cream its not too doily-ish for me.

I ADORE ruffles and super girly details but I usually would not be caught dead in a top like this on its own, mostly because of the all lace back, and at first was at a loss as to how to wear it. Then I remembered that I should OBVIOUSLY layer it with a thin cami. DUH.

The boots: After much much MUCH searching for a decent heeled ankle boot I bought these gorgeous grey/brown wedged boots. I DO NOT like wedge boots and at first would not buy them purely for that reason, but they look SO GOOD and you cannot beat the comfort of a wedge heel – compared to other heels of course.

Accessories: I wore a simple sliver chain with a round quartz stone and these chrysanthemum like silver ear-rings.

Done and done. Nice outfit for a semi-cold day.

Style-wise, I don’t like winter for that same reason. The clothes, as good as they look on the runways, just don’t excite me. This is not half bad though.

I love the lace top! Where did you get it from? Also boots..look comfy,

Aparna- Lace top is from a store called Costa Blanca here in Canada. They used to be my favourite up until a few months ago..but H&M has been so consistently awesome this past season, they’ve taken over BIG TIME!

@inopiate- I’ve been trying to jazz up winter things with pops of colour and texture if print is unavailable.

I find that for all this, nothing beats a comfortable pair of trousers, a long sleeved tee, a sweater/cardigan/pullover and to prevent the outfit plunging in to the depths of boredom an interesting scarf. I wear a variation of this on most days of the week.

Sweater: Navy blue from Gap with a cute button detail on the shoulders.
    Grey tee from target.
    Cargos from Banana Republic.

    Silk scarf from Shilpi, Madras.

    yet another blazer day

It’s been so crazy for these days and also because it was the year end, there were so many things to catch on…so apologize for haven’t been able to post anything up here.

I’ve been transfered to work on a different show now, with the start time 5am everyday, I literally lost the patience and time to dress up+take pictures every day…but then I realize…if I don’t take the time to dress up myself…then what do I really have time for…so I started my outfit picking the previous night, so the next morning I can just pick up and go. The weather hasn’t been great here in Toronto, but with a very warm parka I can wear anything inside.

Starting with my closet cleaning 2 weeks ago. I was going through my clothes and find out I have way too many blazers…well I LOVE blazers…and every time when I see it’s on sale…then it is a MUST BUY…

This is the full look, I’ve been in love with knee high boots lately, and it makes my legs looks straight and in some way, makes me look taller :)

    • Blazer: Urban Outfitters.
It is actually not a regular blazer, it is made of silk…(but oddly you can’t really tell when you just looking at it), because it is not the regular material, so it is very soft and casually shaped. It doesn’t have to be uncomfortable to wear a blazer. That’s why I love this one, it has the blazer look, but a very much a silk top feeling.
    • Tank Top: Urban Outfitters.
I know I know I can’t resist Urban Outfitters, almost 80% of my outfit comes from that store, and the other 20%, is from H&M. This is a double layered tank top, the inside layer is cotton material, and tight tank top so it fits perfect on me, it is also like a basic black layer you put on. The outside layer is a mix of color blue prints, and it is silk material so it is very comfortable. The outside layer is a little bit big, but looks very casual inside the blazer.
    • Boots: Urban Outfitters
It is a pair of Knee Hight Suede grey boots. I’ve never had a pair of suede boots, but it turned out surprisingly comfortable and looks nice. It is a bit lose on the legs so sometimes it will fall, but that’s okay, it creates the natural look.
    • Leggings: TNA
Well….Leggings are like my thing now…I can’t go anywhere without them…haha
