    shift dressing

I wore this to a client meeting to discuss a project. I wasn’t sure if it was perhaps too formal because often in design environments everyone’s dressed in jeans and flip flops. But it fit in ok, I think, with the vibe of the place. Since it wasn’t an interview, I could dress it down anyways.

dress: simple black shift dress from uniqlo with a fold detail a little below the neck. I love the versatility of this. I had only wore this once because I got somewhat uncertain of the shape but I like it more now.

sweater: chunky knit cardigan from calvin klein. This has a great knit detail on the back and it has a circular sort of shape which is quite flattering. I have been wearing this a lot. It seems to go well with everything.

shoes: black real leather shoes from jeffrey campbell.

accessories: black wool stockings, super fun orla kiely bag, retro gold timex.

I like how you do monotones. And the pattern on your sweater resonates the pattern on the bag!

I love the look and the bag is so playful..perfect compliment to the rest of the outfit. I can’t really get a good look at the shows though.
Good observation ET..and dats exactly why you are a style diva!!
I’m almost jealous that you get to be so casual at work…we’re required to be so starched and stiff..Bah!!

    plaid love

shirt/tunic: I scored this at a recent steven alan sample sale where everything was close to 70% off. I almost regret not buying more things. It has peter pan-esque collars and  slightly shorter than full sleeves. The material is cotton with a little bit of wool which makes just the right amount of cosy. It’s so so comfortable…I could wear it all the time.

leggings: black opaque cotton/jersey leggings from american apparel. my rules for leggings as pants are that the butt should be covered and they should be opaque cotton and hence not too snug.

boots: enzo angiolini boots as featured before. I think these work best with leggings/tights. They are too narrow for jeans.

accessories: retro gold timex watch which was a gift that I have grown to love a lot. good old gray bag.

Plaid done right! There has been such a surplus of plaid this season in the same old styles. This is just adorable and different!

We should do a plaid week so we can wear ours all over the world. Or is that what’s called a trend? I heart these boots

thanks you two. I do love plaid…especially steven alan plaids/checks. even with funky colors, he manages to make them less trendy. ET, I looked for the boots and found them here

    fall love

The things I love about cooler weather are tights/leggings/stockings, boots, coats, scarves and so on. Though I can’t really dress up for the cold that much where I live, I try my best.

dress: “tribal” pattern dress bought on clearance from Urban Outfitters. It has wooden buttons and I like the pattern a lot. Also, the shape is sort of boxy and the side pockets accentuate that but I don’t mind it too much. I figured the short length might compensate for some of that.

tights: gray wool knit tights bought at H&M a few years back. These are a little warm but the loose knit prevents it from being too warm.

shoes: previously posted blue slightly pointy flats.

cardigan: I layered it with a light cardigan for later in the evening. The black gray color block cardigan is from the Gap from a couple of years ago. It has a small percentage of cashmere in the material so it’s pretty cosy but very light.

This is definitely one of my favorite fall outfits. It’s super comfortable and I always need an excuse to wear a dress and tights instead of jeans.

I went back to black some months ago…the color should be fading now with my true brown/black showing through.

top is a long tunic style t-shirt from Rogan for Target, featured here before.

jeans are skinny-ish from Zara with cool bronze studs along the pockets.

shoes are the same dansko clogs/sandals as featured before.

nacklace is an old one from H&M with a gold chain and a big pendant with hand painting (I think).

I wore this to an on-site freelance gig. I always get cold in offices but it is super hot outside right now. I changed the t shirt later.

    nidhi_styleperdiem9_3

t-shirt: poketo t shirt with an illustration by linotte depicting 2 girls surrounded by shoes. I thought you all would understand. Once in a while they have a warehouse sale at their LA office where I stocked up on tees. The night time t shirt is this one from uniqlo with a zebra illustration and silver stripes.

blazer: gray blazer from uniqlo that I got for $9.99 down from the original $79.99! I love when that happens. I am totally buying into the boyfriend blazer look.

jeans: diesel matic jeans bought at gilt.com. If anyone needs an invite to gilt, let me know.

accessories: since I bought the jeans online, I was a little off on the size which I don’t mind too much. I had to wear a belt just to feel a little snug though. Old distressed looking belt with a rough silver paint.

    shoes: same wedges/heels as before.

I’d forgotten how much I love the jeans-blazer look. Time to dig out my dad’s brown corduroy one

Love the zebra T-shirt. The jeans don’t look like the wrong size at all. Jeans with formal jacket is my favorite cure to the tired workwear syndrome.

I wore this to Renegade craft fair, farmer’s market, then for some utthapam and dosa followed by food coma/laziness at a coffeeshop.

    nidhi_styleperdiem8

dress: yellow/cream dress from H&M from a while ago, in my favorite yellow ever. I love the thicker cotton fabric and the rather unique and forgiving shape. It has pockets on the side seams. The waist is low and the dress is loose but rather structured I think. It’s also very versatile for different occasions and weather.

sandals: dansko platform/wedge heels. I got these at a sport/adventure store and just tried them on to kill time. I would normally refrain from getting too carried away to buy shoes from a store carrying the best hiking shoes but I really do think these manage to find the right balance between cute and (oh so) comfortable.

accessories: same old bag, same old sunglasses.
